Since its launch in June 2011, participants in the LATISSE® Wishes Challenge have helped to raise more than $390,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, but $110,000 is still needed to meet the campaign goal and help grant a wish in every Make-A-Wish® chapter across the country.

With just weeks until the campaign’s close, Hendricks, a LATISSE® user, is urging women to help by donating a minimum of $20on www.LatisseWishesChallenge.com by November 30. As a thank you, the first 10,000 participants making the minimum $20donation will receive a free trial certificate for a one month’s supply of LATISSE® – the first and only prescription treatment approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to grow lashes longer, fuller and darker for those with inadequate or not enough lashes (eyelash hypotrichosis) – to take to a doctor to determine if LATISSE® is right for them. Campaign participants who invite two friends to support the campaign will also receive a $20 rebate off their next purchase of LATISSE®.

It was a pleasure to escort David and his family on the Red Carpet at this year’s awards and to know that David enjoyed ‘star treatment’ that day. There are so many other wishes to grant to courageous children like David, and I hope women will join me in supporting the Make-A-Wish Foundation by participating in the LATISSE® Wishes Challenge.

My lashes have always been thin and light in color, and over time, I know they will continue to thin out even more. I talked to my doctor about LATISSE® and have been using it nightly for 16 weeks now to grow my lashes longer, fuller and darker. I am thrilled by my lash results and encourage women interested in LATISSE® to visit www.LatisseWishesChallenge.com to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation and ask their doctor if LATISSE® is right for them.”

On October 21st, 2011, Lancôme invites customers to experience the “Beauty of Giving” by celebrating Genes Day, a one-day national event Lancôme began in 2010 to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, one of the world’s premier centers for the research and treatment of pediatric cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases. On this day, Lancôme will donate $7 from the sale of every bottle of Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate to St. Jude. (This is in addition to special promotions and events nationwide surrounding Genes Day throughout the month of October.)

“The partnership between Lancôme and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is a true celebration of the beauty of giving,” says Lancôme ambassadress Julia Roberts. “I’m honored to be part of the Lancôme family as it supports St. Jude’s mission of helping children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases.”

Lancôme, the world’s largest luxury beauty brand, pledges to double last year’s donation and raise $300,000 to support the lifesaving research and treatment done at St. Jude.

“We’re proud to join forces with St. Jude for a second year in a row,” says Serge Jureidini, president of LancômeUSA. “St. Jude is an organization that shares Lancôme’s commitment to groundbreaking research and we’re committed to supporting the cause for years to come.”Jureidini adds that in this second year, it’s even more clear that Lancôme and St. Jude share many of the same core values, namely their focus on research-led initiatives. “Our partnership,” says Jureidini, “only grows stronger.”

“Lancôme is a partner that, like us, understands the importance and value of research,” says Richard C. Shadyac Jr., CEO of ALSAC, the fundraising organization of St. Jude. “Our founder Danny Thomas believed that no child should die in the dawn of life, and the funds raised by Genes Day and other Lancôme programs throughout October helps enable us to continue the groundbreaking research that leads to cures for children in communities everywhere.”

About St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is internationally recognized for its pioneering work in finding cures and saving children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. St. Jude is the first and only pediatric cancer center to be designated as a Comprehensive Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute. Founded by late entertainer Danny Thomas and based in Memphis, Tenn., St. Jude freely shares its discoveries with scientific and medical communities around the world. St. Jude is the only pediatric cancer research center where families

never pay for treatment not covered by insurance. No child is ever denied treatment because of the family’s inability to pay. St. Jude is financially supported by ALSAC, its fundraising organization. For more information, go to www.stjude.org and follow St. Jude on www.facebook.com/stjude andwww.twitter.com/stjude.

About Lancôme and Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate
Lancôme, founded in Paris in 1935, is the world’s largest luxury beauty brand. Its award-winning skincare, makeup and fragrances are sold at 2,000 counters across the U.S. Just as science and research are the cornerstones for St. Jude, they are the driving force behind Lancôme skin care. Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate, introduced in 2009, is a shining example of this single-minded focus. The award-winning and best-selling product is the result of 10 years of research and the recipient of seven international patents. It also marks the brand’s entry into the area of genes technology as it relates to skin. After extensive clinical testing, Lancôme confirmed that in just seven days the Génifique formula enhances the youthful quality of skin and improves skin tone, texture and luminosity. After two months of regular use, Génifique stimulates the production of proteins associated with young skin—this is Lancôme research and innovation at its best.

A truly innovative formula, Génifique was the first skincare product to enter the genes territory. And the results speak for themselves: visibly improved tone, texture and luminosity within just seven days. The unique, sleek packaging with the dropper system only adds to its appeal. Fans include “Mad Men” actress Christina Hendricks, Lancôme ambassador Julia Roberts, British songbird Lily Allen, supermodel Veronica Webb and star makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury.

Genes Day: Celebrating the Beauty of Scientific Research
The suggested retail prices for Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate are $58 for 0.67 ounce; $78 for 1 ounce; $98 for 1.7 ounces; $125 for 2.5 ounces. Those new to Génifique are welcome to stop by the counter during the month of October for a deluxe seven-day sample of the product. On Genes Day, October 21st, a $7 donation will be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for every concentrate sold at a Lancôme counter in the United States or at lancome-usa.com.

Giddy, Glamorous Waves:

Hollywood glamour waves, tossed exuberantly over one shoulder, topped many of the sassy, sexy style collections during Fashion Week. According to Matrix Artistic Designer Franco Della Grazia, who created looks like this for designer Betsey Johnson, this “glam-with-whimsy” feeling is perfect for lighthearted spring styles and will undoubtedly be embraced by celebrity style divas like Christina Aguilera and Jennifer Lopez. The styles are characterized by deep side parts and crisply defined waves. Hair is swept over one shoulder and pinned behind the ear to keep strands in place.

These high class waves will be complemented by bombshell colors—like vixen red, smoky brunette and “platinum card” blonde. To maintain vivid color, Della Grazia recommends products created specifically for color-treated hair, like Matrix Total Results Color Care Shampoo and Conditioner. ”These formulas help preserve brilliant color, even after 45 washes,” he notes. To add crisp definition to waves while taming frizz and flyaways, he suggests a combination of styling cream and shine-enhancing serum like Matrix Design Pulse Loosely Defined Texture Creme and Mix In Shine Brilliant Serum.

Mad, Mod Beehives

The beehive is back, declares Matrix Artistic Director Ammon Carver, but with a twist. ”At shows like Diane Von Furstenberg,” he explains, “high bouffants evoked the cool retro elegance of Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks. But rather than traditional sleek and solid shapes, these hives are roughed up and romantic—with lots of texture and even wisps and flyaways.” A two-toned color scheme—darker on the sides, lighter on top—give these styles a punk-rock spin. Light teasing is essential when creating these looks and the ideal tools are a product like Matrix Vavoom ShapeMaker Medium Hold Hairspray.

Patent Leather Ponies

Ponytails will gleam next season, says Nick Stenson, Matrix Artistic Director—a trendy, high-shine finish was popular with designers like Derek Lam. Inspired by the sleek style of celebrities like Kate Bosworth and Gwyneth Paltrow, “the finish on these styles is so glamorous,” says Stenson. ”It’s like the intense reflection you’d see on an Italian sports car.” Close fitting, neat and chic, shiny ponytails will be the perfect punctuation for many of spring’s clean, timeless sportswear collections. Stensonrecommends combining Matrix Design Pulse Glow to Pieces Shine Wax and Mix In Shine Brilliant Serum to damp hair to produce high shine. And he adds, “It requires healthy, well-hydrated strands to wear this look well.” Try Matrix Total Results Moisture Cure 2-Phase Treatment.

Scalloped Edges

Braids have played a predominant role in hair styles for several seasons and the trend continues according to Della Grazia. For spring, look for plump and glossy braids edging hairlines, as shown by designer Lela Rose, where they provided a folksy framework for the designer’s easy and elegant fashions. ”There were many extremely feminine silhouettes, prints and colors in the season’s collections,” comments Della Grazia, “and a single accent braid embellishes these styles beautifully.” The look is likely to be sported by boho-chic celebrities like Mandy Moore, Nicole Richie, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. ”Braids are best when they’re smooth and defined,” remarks Della Grazia. He recommends Matrix Total Results Curl Super DeFrizzer Gel andSleek Silk Wonder Smoothing Oil on damp hair.

NARS created the look for the Marc Jacobs runway show. Please find below information and Q&A with François Nars on the look, as well as images attached.

SHOW: Marc Jacobs

LEAD ARTIST: François Nars, Founder & Creative Director of NARS Cosmetics

TREND: Strong eyes, glowing skin and nude, glossy lips

INSPIRATION & LOOK: “Marc had a lot of images of Patsy Klein, Amy Winehouse, and Cowboy Kate, a book from the 60′s whose character Kate had heavy eyelashes,” said Founder and Creative Director François Nars. “The complexion is meant to look like it’s glowing, like the girls have been dancing, and by eliminating the blush it gives a strange, otherworldly effect. The focus was really on the eye, with a well-defined brow. The combination of different touches creates a decadent, French sensuality and makes the girls more like characters.”

Below are the key products used to create the exclusive look:

FACE

Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer – new for Spring 2012; for now try a light application of Sheer Glow Foundation

BROWS

Pandora Duo Eyeshadow (on brows)

EYES

Via Veneto Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner

Larger Than Life Volumizing Mascara

LIPS

Madere Pure Matte Lipstick

Striptease Lip Gloss

All products, except where noted, are available at narscosmetics.com.

François Nars, on the look created at the Spring 2012 Marc Jacobs runway show.

1. What kind of look did you want to create for Marc’s show?

Marc showed me images of Amy Winehouse, Patsy Klein, and Sweet Charity – all of whom had inspired him. Because the girls are to be staring into the eyes of the audience when the curtain opens, we decided to focus on the eyes. We were inspired by this book from the 1960s, Cowboy Kate, whose character wore false eyelashes and Marc mentioned Bob Fosse (the choreographer) and so it was really important to make the girls look like dancers, to treat them like characters not models. The skin is meant to look like it is dewy, like the girls have been dancing – it’s very Cabaret. We used the new Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer instead of foundation.

2. What beauty technique did you use to bring Marc’s vision to life?

We used three pairs of false eyelashes for each girl! We actually had to cut them very precisely. The inner corners of one pair were cut off and applied to the inner corners. Then, we cut the remaining two pairs in half and used the outer halves on the outer corners, not at the same time of course. We applied one set, and then followed with the next.

3. What kind of affect does this create?

It makes the eyes look really full along the outer corners. It’s very decadent, very French, very Marc. We used Via Veneto Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner to line the eyes and eliminate the space between the lashes and the lash line. And then applied Larger Than Life Volumizing Mascara for additional emphasis.

4. What about the rest of the look – especially the brows? They are very defined.

In order to keep the focus on the eyes, we needed to create a frame around them, which is exactly what brows do to the face. We made them very dark with the black side of Pandora Duo Eyeshadow, so that they look like dancers. In the past we’ve always done really minimal brows or bleached them completely so this was different for us. The brow is sharply defined from inner to outer ends. It’s very monochromatic.

5. Hence the reason for no blush and nude lips?

Yes- there is no color. The lips have Madere Pure Matte Lipstick applied for a nude, very couture look and topped it with Striptease Lip Gloss for shine. And absolutely no blush- when you look at the girls, it’s really like you are looking at a black and white film – there is no color.

6. You mention Amy Winehouse- what about Amy inspired the look exactly?

The look for Marc was very similar to Amy’s in that the skin is transparent. The direct inspiration was not a literal reference but to evoke the overall feeling or essence of her. The hair, the lashes and also her skin. She never wore a lot of foundation; just eye makeup.
